Maestro Marcella Crudeli receives Order of the Merit of the Italian Republic
Maestro Marcella Crudeli, a renowned international pianist, has been awarded the Grand Officer of Merit of the Italian Republic in recognition of her achievements in a long and prestigious musical career.

Maestro Marcella Crudeli received the award of “Grande Ufficiale al Merito della Repubblica italiana” on Thursday 3rd June at the Palazzo Valentini, headquarters of the Prefecture of Rome.

Marcella Crudeli has received numerous honours for her distinguished artistic career, including Commander of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic and Knight of the Italian Order of Merit for Culture and Art. She has performed over 2,000 concerts in 80 countries on all five continents; including Santa Cecilia Academy in Rome, La Scala in Milan, Wigmore Hall in London, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires and with the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra.

Marcella Crudeli is the founder and president of the Cultural Association “Fryderyk Chopin,” which since 1990 has organised the annual International Piano Competition “Roma”. The Cuomo Foundation has been the main sponsor of this event since 2004.

The 30th edition of the “Roma” competition will be held 4th-16th November at the magnificent cloister of San Giovanni Battista dei Genovesi in the historical Trastevere district of Rome.

The Cuomo Foundation salutes the Maestro on this honourable achievement and continues to support cultural events of this magnitude dedicated to the future success of young professional pianists.
