On February 9, Rome’s Teatro della Garbatella hosted “Fai la Differenza, ferma la violenza” (“Make a Difference, Stop Violence”), an educational musical theatre production organized by the local cultural association I Cerchi Magici established in 2005.The company consisted of students from the Arvalia Music School and young professional actors. These two associations operate under the banner project of Compagnia Teatrale Solidale, which has been supported by the Cuomo Foundation for the past two years.
Two performances of the show were held, with over 300 students from Malaspina and Pincherle primary and secondary schools in attendance.
The innovative production used drama and music to address the highly relevant societal issues of violence against women and children, discrimination against minorities, bullying, and the dynamics of domination within school and social environments. These complex topics were presented in an accessible, sensitive, and engaging way to encourage reflection and dialogue among the young audiences.
The Cuomo Foundation continues to support projects that foster awareness, inclusion, and personal growth in younger generations.
