Cuomo Foundation principal sponsor of 8th edition of “Les Itinéraires Artistiques de Saint-Louis 2022”

The 8th edition of the “Itinéraires artistiques de Saint-Louis” was opened by an official delegation representing the Senegalese Minister of Culture, Mr Abdoulaye Diop, on the 7th May, 2022. The title theme of this year’s exhibition is “Intergenerational Artistic Encounters and Cultural Diversity” and features multidisciplinary works – paintings, sculptures, photographs, design and digital art – by 35 African artists.

In addition to offering young Senegalese and other African creators an opportunity to exhibit their works, to meet art critics, collectors, gallery owners, and various partners; parallel workshops are also organised for nearby school students, enabling young people to explore artistic practices and to raise their awareness of environmental challenges.

The Cuomo Foundation has been associated with this exhibition and event since 2020 and again this year is the principal sponsor of ‘Les Itineraires Artistique de Saint-Louis 2022’, which will run from 7 May to 10 June.

“Participants in these workshops are selected from the best students in the region by the trainers who are art teachers. There are also sessions with guest artists who will exchange ideas and techniques with the young people. This moment of communion will allow the young talents to rub shoulders with their elders and to learn the different painting techniques.”
